Training Workshop on Social Forest Management and Climate Change from August 22-25, 2011

Under the framework of the project "Capacity building on climate change for civil society organizations in Vietnam" funded by Embassy of Finland, a training workshop on Social Forest Management in context of Climate Change is scheduled to be organized from August 22 to 25, 2011 for Vietnamese staff of local and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other civil society organizations (CSOs).

The key contents of the workshop can be seen as follows:

• Important roles of social forest management
• Social forest management in Vietnam - related policies/legal frame
• Sharing on social forest management in Vietnam
• Key principles to promote social forest
• Key steps of social forest management
• Roles of social forest management in the context of climate change
• REDD+ : Definition, challenges and opportunities
• Roles of NGOs/CSOs in climate change mitigation
