In order to assess and improve current project activities, SRD held a review workshop on February 17, 2012 to mark the end of the year-long pilot phase of the Community Based Disaster Risk Mitigation and Climate Change Adaptation in Huong Tra District, Thua Thien Hue project. Stakeholder and several community leaders from the district, communes and villages were in attendance for this event, along with many other organizations working around Hue to discuss and share their understandings of disaster risk reduction and mitigation in the surrounding area of Hue.
SRD provided participants with information on project activities and their impacts, and other organizations had the opportunity to share their ongoing projects related to community based disaster risk management. Through these various presentations, participants were able to learn more about solutions to reduce risks caused by disasters. This also gave SRD the opportunity to improve their project activities in the next phase of this project through pinpointing strengths and weaknesses and considering comments from participants. And, of course, the workshop was a way to celebrate all the successes accomplished during the pilot phase within the past year.
