On June 19th SRD held a second "Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA)” workshop under the broader “Vietnam Forests and Deltas” (VFD) project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). This activity was designed within the project to support local non-governmental organizations (VNGOs) in improving their organizational capacity in order to be eligible to directly receive funds from USAID since 2013. SRD was one of four strategic partners to be selected.

The second OCA took place in SRD’s office with the support from Mrs. Nguyen Thu Ha who is a gender and capacity specialist from one of VFD’s partners, Winrock International.

Both the Board of Management and SRD staff enthusiastically took part in the organizational assessment on seven topics: Governance, Organizational management, Program management, Project Performance management, Administration, Human resource management, and Financial management.

Based on the results from the first OCA, SRD’s staff continued to review and re-assess the strengths and weaknesses in its fields of operation. From there, they will establish the base for developing short term and long term action plans for the center to improve its organizational capacity in its role as a reliable partner of USAID and other donors.
