Mai Quang Ban’s chanty started the communication program for the prevention of accidents and injuries for children in coordination with the Centre for Sustainable Rural Development, Gio Linh District People’s Committee and Phong Binh Commune People’s Committee. The activity aimed at sharing knowledge and skills on child injury prevention. In addition, it also created a platform of exchanging and learning for parents with disabilities and members of the commune’s club of PwDs. The program includes contests for general knowledge, theatre-based communication and first aid instruction for children at risk of drowning.

Guide to first aid for drowning victims
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Mai in Binh Minh village has a child with mental retardation, said: “Joining the program, I know more about how to prevent my child from dangers, especially when I'm not around. Besides, I am very happy to be able to share and interact with many other young parents today”.
Theatre-based communication
According to Mr. Bui Ngoc Duong, Vice Chairman of Phong Binh Commune People's Committee: “This is a meaningful experience for children, young parents and PWDs in understanding more about preventing accidents and injuries at children. This activity also creates a platform for people with disabilities (PWDs) and CWD (CWD), helps people with disabilities become more integrated and engaged, and contributes to the implementation of the commune's general policy to minimize child injuries”.
