“When I went to Trung Son to learn some experiences, I went to Cam Lo to learn twice and thrice of them. From the way that people with disabilities like us try to do business, to have good economic models or to have recent lives; to have the optimistic attitude like many people with disabilities in both Trung Son and Cam Lo, I feel very meaningful!.”

Only when going outside, I could see how well they manage the group, how effective the business model is and the spirit of solidarity. The Center for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) organized two exchange tours, on November 20 and 26, to share experiences among new and old PwD clubs, both in and out of of Gio Linh district. The two PwD clubs of Gio An and Gio Viet (established 2019) had the opportunity to visit and share their experience with the Trung Son commune PwD club (established in 2015). The Association of People with Disabilities, Victims of Agent Orange and Social Protection of Cam Lo district and two PwD clubs from Cam An and Cam Tuyen communes were also present.
Members of the two new clubs were very excited to exchange and learn with friends. At the same time, the management board of the two PwD clubs of Gio An and Gio Viet also gained valuable experience in club management. Learning about village savings and loan associations (VSLAs), loan repayment and good business models to apply to their own clubs.
This activity was organized within the framework of the project "Empowering People with Disabilities" funded by Caritas Australia and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), implemented by the Center for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD).
