An initiative for Human Resource Strategic planning

Over the last few years, SRD has been undertaking initiatives to participate in dynamic and vibrant workshops to highlight and achieve goals both for the organization and for the individual employees. SRD recognizes that attention to Human Resources is key to our success and thus the development of our employees is a priority. Therefore, on August 12, the Human Resources team organized an internal workshop for all SRD staff, as part of the planning process for next Human Resources Strategic Plan.

Introduction of basic concepts on Human Resource Development

The workshop was an opportunity for the HR team to share knowledge and experiences in HR Management, and the value of good HR Management to an organization, as well as for all staff to provide input into the development of the upcoming Strategic Plan. The workshop methodology utilized audio and video, visual aids, and participatory tools such as sharing sessions, icebreaking games, and presentations to effectively achieve workshop objectives.

Ms Hansani, Human Resources Specialist of SRD, explained that "Effectively managing the Human Resources practices will ensure that SRD has the right people in the right skills and competencies in the right positions. It helps to foster a true sense of personal value and commitment to providing high quality services to disadvantaged communities."

All SRD's staff had an opportunity to learn, share, and enjoy during the workshop. Through the suggestions and comments gained from SRD staff and management during the workshop, the HR team expects to develop a comprehensive Strategic Plan for Human Resource development, to support the organizational Strategic Plan for the upcoming phase.
