On 18th August, Mrs. Vu Thi Bich Hop, The Executive Director of SRD (The Centre for Sustainable Rural Development) visited headquarter of Winrock International (WI) in Virginia and she was warmly welcomed by the CEO and President of WI. They had a discussion on the cooperation between WI and SRD within the framework of The Vietnam Forests and Deltas Project (VFD). On 20th August, Mrs. Hop together with colleagues from WI visited headquarters of The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington DC, USA.

At the USAID headquarters, Mrs. Hop made a presentation about SRD and SRD’s activities in the VFD project funded by USAID and led by WI. SRD was highly appreciated by USAID and WI for its performance and contribution in the framework of the VFD project as well as in other SRD’s projects across Vietnam country. WI’s CEO and his colleagues expressed closely continuous cooperation with SRD and consider SRD an important national NGO partner in Vietnam.

As an implementing partner in the VFD project, SRD has shown the activeness and effectiveness in different activities including: Raising awareness and behavior change communications; strengthening the role of women in reducing deforestation and forest degradation; climate smart rice cultivation model; value chain; supporting to check for CCAP updates; enhancing the capacity and role of NGOs in responding to climate change. The project sites consist of Nam Dinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa and Long An provinces. The VFD project planned for 5 years, from October 2012 to June 2017.
