Community Consultation in Gio Quang Commune

        Shared words from the participants:

 

      Mrs. Pham Thi Tuoi, a caregiver in Tan Ky village, said: I am happy to join the meeting today and the shared information is very useful. With this project to be carried out here, people with disabilities will have chances to go out and socialize, their spirit and emotions will also be better than previously when staying at home.”

 

       Mr. Le Quang Dung, a Tan Ky villager with mobility difficulty expressed: This is the first project in the commune to work with PwDs after a very long time. The PwDs will be able to get rid off their low self-esteem and to improve their livé. I have read the photo-book in which many good stories should be told.”

         Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nho, a women with vision difficulty in Truc Lam village, shared: ”Upon hearing the information about the project, I am very excited for the club to be established so that everyone can help each other spiritually and work together to make life happier.”

 

        Ms. Le Thi Ly, a caregiver in Quang Thuong commune, told us: “Today, while preparing insurance paper for my daughter in the commune, I heard about the project, so I came to listen. My daughter has a mobility disability but she does participate in sports for the PWD. I will tell my daughter about the project so she can see how to participate.”

          Above are some sharing of the caregivers and PwCs in Gio Quang commune when participating in the community consultation to share information of the project "Empowering people with disabilities" held in Gio Quang commune on September 11, 2020. There were nearly 90 members participants including villagers and representatives of the Gio Quang Commune People’s Committee.

 

           Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Sang - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, affirmed: “This is a meaningful project for the PwC. In Gio Quang commune, there are still many talented people with disabilities who are afraid to participate in social activities due to their low self-esteem. Therefore, we hope that when the project is implemented in the commune, the Club for People with Disabilities with be established, then the PwDs will participate and gain confidence gradually to improve their capabilities at their best.”

        Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of participants was divided into small groups of less than 30 people. The members gathered to exchange and  share information about the project and its activities that have been carried out so far in other communes throughout the district.
