On 5 May and 13 May, 2020, the Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) coordinated with the Steering Board of Gio Linh district, of the project communes and the management board of People with Disabilities (PWDs) Clubs of 9 communes and parents groups of children with disabilities (CwD) to organize project reflection meeting in 2019-2020 and make plan for the 2020-2021 period.
The content focuses on four main issues: (1) What worked well in the previous year; (2) What did not work well in the previous year or not effectively yet ; (3) Proposing amendments (if any) including ways of implementation and organization; and (4) Activity plan in 2020-2021.
There were 54 members from the Steering Board, parents groups of CwDs from 9 project communes and members of the Steering Board at district and commune levels and the staffs who are in charge of the social policy in the project communes. Representatives of clubs and parents group discussed and agreed that most of the activities in the four project intervention areas including organizations of PwDs; physical and emotional improvement and resilience increase; livelihood development and networking plus advocacy and communication have brought positive impact on PwDs and CwDs and their caregivers. At the end of the meeting, the Head of Steering Board highly appreciated the efforts of all parties who has flexibly adjusted to ensure the progress of the project. He agreed with the project plan in the period of 2020-2021 and requested the CPCs to continue directing the clubs to maintain and complete the remaining activities of the project to prepare for the final review workshop which will be organized in June 2020.
