The Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) and People's Committee (PC) of Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province recently organized the Launching and implementation planning workshop for project named "Community For Disaster Risk Reduction" sponsored by Caritas Australia.
The workshop attracted a number of key leaders and staff from district PC and relating agencies of district and communal levels and representatives from SRD, including: Executive Director and officers in Central Region as well. The project aims to support vulnerable groups at three projected-communes for better responding to disasters through resilience enhancement and livelihood development.
All participants discussed and proposed the implementation plan in 2017 with activities focusing on practicing natural disaster preparedness and response, strengthening existing supportive groups, promoting and integrating adaptive livelihood models with current livelihood programs.
Mr. Le Huu Phuoc, Vice Chairman of PC of Hai Lang district cum Chairman of Project Steering Board, while highly appreciating SRD's contribution and support to Hai Lang district in general and three projected-communes in particular, also making strong commitment for close cooperation with SRD through the project implementation.

Speaking at the workshop, Mrs. Vu Thi Bich Hop, the Executive Director of SRD reaffirmed that good relationship between Hai Lang district PC and SRD was the key for the success of previous project, and strongly believed that more positive outcomes from this second project will be reached thanks to the practical experience, commitment and effective cooperation of all stakeholders.
