On October 28, 2021, VPA/FLEGT Office – Vietnam Administration of Forestry (VNFOREST) held the 10th VPA/FLEGT Multi-Stakeholder Core Group Meeting with the participation of 40 organizations under the chairmanship of Chairman Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dien and Co-Chairwoman Vu Thi Bich Hop – Executive Director of the Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD).
The implementation progress of the VPA/FLEGT Agreement in the past year was reported. Furthermore, documents related to the implementation of Decree No. 102/2020/ND-CP on the Vietnam Legal Timber System (VNTLAS), and reports on the activities of projects and NGOs on the implementation, enforcement and monitoring of VPA/FLEGT in Vietnam were presented and discussed by the representative of the Forest Protection Department. Additionally, operational regulations of multi-stakeholder core group VPA/FLEGT were also discussed. Core group developed and contributed on activities implementation plan in the coming period as well as prepared documents to be submitted to the JIC and JEM meetings and the co-chair election 2022.
