After three years of hard work and dedication, the ‘Support to People with Disabilities in ThuaThien-Hue’ project has finally come to an end. This occasion was marked by a review workshop held by DoLISA, one of SRD's project partners, on February 18, 2012. To commemorate this event, several partners and stakeholders were in attendance.
The Support to People with Disabilities in ThuaThien-Hue project has successfully achieved all goals and objectives in four communes - Dien Mon, Phong Binh,Phong Hien and Phong Xuan - through its various project activities such as developing a rehabilitation network, providing training sessions, creating a livelihood development fund, and forming People with Disabilities Associations. Although SRD will no longer be present in these communes, the legacy of SRD will remain. Through the signing of a contract, SRD has handed over the fruits of its project, such as the livelihood development fund, to its project partner, DoLISA, and the four People with Disabilities Associations to carry on the progress it has made over the past three years. In these communes, people with disabilities can collectively continue to improve their health, livelihoods, and social lives while building confidence to advocate for themselves.
These past three years are just the beginning of a very bright and prosperous future for people with disabilities in the communes of Dien Mon, Phong Binh, Phong Hien and Phong Xuan.
