Over the past 10 years, the Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) has continuously developed in every field. In the time of beginning, SRD focused on agriculture projects over 4 provinces and only had 10 staff. Presently, SRD, with more than 40 staff, has broadened its work to forestry, climate change, network linkage, and policy advocacy. SRD's efforts and achievements have been recognized by the Government, SRD's governing agency VUSTA, and other related partners. To sustainably develop, it is necessary for SRD to review its organizational structure and operation to strengthen the quality of staff and improve its expert capacity.
In 2013, SRD started undertaking the organizational capacity assessment (OCA) for the first time, with independent experts. Since that time, SRD has operated OCA every year. In this year, OCA was initiated with the meeting of Board of Trustees (BOT) on March 17, 2016, Mr. Donn Berghofer – an expert in organizational development – supported the review of the strategic plan for the period 2013 – 2017, and the SRD's succession plan. Considering Mr. Berghofer's analysis and consultation, the BOT discussed and made a specific implementation plan for the next period.
Mr. Berghofer will make a presentation about SRD's assessment results and the orientations of organizational development in the future, at SRD's 10th Anniversary in April.
