The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere at SRD office, Manos Unidas is the Association of the Catholic Church in Spain for aid, promotion and development of the Third World. Manos Unidas has been a partner of SRD since its establishment and one of the first donors to SRD. SRD’s Executive Director, Mrs. Vu Thi Bich Hop, said she highly appreciated Manos Unidas’s support for SRD. She also stated that Manos Unidas is one of the partners of SRD with a long term commitment and cooperation, as well as highest flexibility.

Mrs Vu Thi Bich Hop reported on outstanding SRD activities in 2014, SRD’s development plan for 2015 and plans to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of SRD in 2016. Mrs Hop was excited to inform that SRD is one of two Vietnamese NGOs under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations to recently receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This is a very important recognition by the Government for the efforts of SRD and its outstanding contributions to the alleviation of poverty, community development and environmental protection.

At the end of the meeting, Ms Patricia introduced Manos Unidas’s strategic plan in Vietnam to focus on addressing inequality and raising awareness of inequality in Vietnam, rather than overall economic development. Additionally, Ms Patricia also hoped that although SRD has grown every year, it will still keep the family spirit.
