“The training was very useful, it provided support on forest protection; I have learned how to mark the location and share information with stakeholders about the forest change” shared Mr. Ho Van Tuong, member of the community group of Lang Cat village.

“Women should actively participate since women play an important role in the community, such as monitoring and protecting forests, detecting cases related to deforestation and reporting to the village head” shared Ms. Ho Thi Duc, member of the Women's Union of Klu village.

"Previously I did not know how to use technical tools when on patrol, but now I can use them, marking landslides and not having to worry about the marks disappearing" shared Mr. Ho Van Xa On, head of Pa Tang hamlet.

We expect that, after training, members of CSOs and communities have learned and grasped techniques in using the system; know how to use GPS or smartphones to locate forest disturbances in the assigned management areas, and how to take note in monitoring reports.

This activity takes place between 19 and 30 November 2020 in three communes of Dakrong, Huong Hiep and Ba Nang in Dakrong district with the expected participation of 120 members from many community groups.
