Community Development Officer (CA MAU/ CAN THO)
The Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) is a Vietnamese Science and Technology Organization under VUSTA, committed to strengthening the capacity of vulnerable communities in rural and mountainous areas to adapt to environmental changes and sustainably manage their livelihood systems in an equitable and compassionate society.
Based on SRD’s Strategic Plan 2023–2027, the Program Department implements activities in poor and vulnerable communities that are highly exposed to adverse climate impacts across the Northern mountainous region, the Central region, and the Mekong Delta.

We are currently looking for 01 Vietnamese candidates for the position of Community Development Officer for the project “Strengthened climate resilience and sustainable income generation for mangrove forest-dependent vulnerable communities” – VM077
The aim of the project is to enhance local climate resilience and restore mangrove ecosystems in order to ensure sustainable livelihoods and social inclusion for vulnerable communities in Ca Mau province in particular, and the Mekong Delta region in general.
SRD plays a key role in achieving the three core objectives of the project, which are:
Objective 1: Enhance carbon stocks and protect mangrove forests through community-based forest management and the implementation of Payment for Forest Environmental Services (PFES) mechanisms.
Objective 2: Improve livelihoods of poor and vulnerable groups dependent on mangrove forests by promoting climate-resilient livelihood models, particularly eco-certified shrimp–mangrove farming systems.
Objective 3: Strengthen cooperation and support among the government, enterprises, and farmers in developing livelihoods, protecting forests, and managing natural resources sustainably.
Work locations: Based in Ca Mau or Can Tho
The Community Development Officer will support the implementation of field-based project activities at commune and village levels; strengthen community capacity and participation; support local partners; and ensure timely and high-quality delivery of assigned project activities according to annual plans.
