Hien joined the SRD staff in November 2013 as program intern. She obtained a Master’s degree in Economics (specializing in Development and Natural Resource Economics) from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, and a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry Economics from Vietnam Forestry University.

Hien’s former employment as an Interpreter/Translator Cum Project Assistant, Interpreter/Translator cum Administrator, program administrator and intern at organizations such as WWF Vietnam, Oxfam Great Britain in Vietnam and IKEA Trading Hong Kong in Vietnam has allowed her to have  diverse knowledge base. She is knowledgeable in Official Development Assistance Projects, project impelementation in terms of administration/logistics/preparation/monitoring work, translation of project documents, Voluntary Partnership Agreements (VPA) and Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT).

Her education is complimented by  trainings, activities and workshops such as:

• Leadership and management skills by General Department of Land Administration (MONRE) and Lantmateriet Sweden;
• Environmental Policy Analysis Methodology by PanNature;
• Copenhagen Climate Change Conference;
• volunteer campaign in poor provinces of Vietnam by Forestry University.
