Climate Finance Tracking – Report sharpening Consultant (International)

 The initiative Adaptation Finance Tracking is led by CARE Denmark and CARE Netherlands on behalf of CARE International. It covers six countries, which are Philippines, Nepal, Uganda, Ghana, Ethiopia and Vietnam. The objectives of the initiative are to:

- Check if OECD donors’ reporting of climate finance for adaptation activities in selected developing countries reflects reality on the ground;

- Justify if the supported adaptation activities are targeting the poorest and most climate vulnerable parts of the population, and if the activities are gender sensitive;

- Develop a methodology that makes it easier for civil society organizations (CSO’s) in other countries to perform similar analysis.

About 20 OECD projects are selected for tracking in each target country. The report covers four areas of analysis: addressing the climate vulnerability, poverty reduction, gender and Joint Principles of Adaptation (JPAs).1The analysis and evidence generated in these studies will hopefully enable CSO network to strengthen their influence on adaptation finance both in country and at international level.

To finalise the Country reports of the selected OECD climate change adaptation projects in areas of addressing vulnerability, poverty reduction, gender and JPAs to ensure high standard reports, an international consultant is recruited to support the Assessment Team to sharpen the Country Reports for the first phase of 3 projects and the final one of total 20 projects.
