SRD’s Executive Director honored receiving 2015 Vietnamese Intelligentsia Certificate of Merit for community development

On May 16^th 2015, “2015 Press contest award and honoring Vietnamese Intelligentsia for the community development ceremony” was held in Thai Hoc yard, Temple of Literature, Hanoi. Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) was honored with Mrs Vu Thi Bich Hop- the Executive Director of SRD receiving Vietnamese Intelligentsia Certificate of Merit for community development.

The ceremony was held by Hanoi Union of Scientific and Technological Association in collaboration with Intelligentsia and Development magazine on the occasion of Vietnam Scientific and Technological day, May 18^th 2005 and 125 years anniversary birthday of Ho Chi Minh President. The aims of the ceremony were to honoring dedicated and enthusiastic intelligentsia who have made positive contributions to the country. Likewise, this is also an activity that recognizes Vietnamese intelligentsia who have made outstanding achievements as leaders in the community.

Mrs Vu Thi Bich Hop is a senior manager that worked at the Ministry of Science and Technology for a several years. She was also a consultant with international non-governmental organizations like UNDP, ADP, IFAD and Aciton Aid. As the Executive Director, Mrs. Vu Thi Bich Hop has given direction and built a strong culture within SRD. During the years, under Mrs Hop and the Board of Trustees leadership, SRD has achieved significant progress by applying best practice methods from capacity building at local levels to policy advocacy at a global level. At the beginning of 2015, SRD was one of two Vietnamese non-governmental organizations to receive the Certificate of merit from Prime Minister of Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This award is a very important recognition from the Government for the efforts of SRD and its outstanding contributions to the alleviation of poverty, community development and environment protection.

Given the outstanding achievements at SRD and contributions to society, Mrs Vu Thi Bich Hop is a worthy leader for recognition by the community.
