From September 16 to 18, 2020, the representative of SRD participated in the training course “Support for capacity building in constructing positivist inputs for policy discussion on the implementation of the VPA/FLEGT Agreement and VNTLAS” organized by PanNature in collaboration with the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR).

The objective of the training course is to broaden knowledge and improve skills at promotion and coordination in resource management for Forest Management Boards, Local Authorities, Communities and Social Organizations whose fields are Forestry and Community Development at the grassroots level.

     Throughout the training, participants analyzed various information together to develop evidence-based policy briefs of organizations and households' readiness to implement the VPA. After the training, participants are ready to develop a general positivist policy brief of VPA implementation. This stems from their improvement in analyzing, synthesizing information to develop indicators and to make final reports.

     The content of the training workshop focused on 4 main issues:

1. Identify general milestones for establishing positivist clauses related to “Organizations and households in the supply chain are well informed and ready to participate in the implementation of VNTLAS”;

2. Develop methods of information extraction, summary and analysis;

3. Develop outlines for policy briefs;

4. Make a consensus on a roadmap for the development and finalization of the general policy newsletter on VPA/FLEGT and VNTLAS implementation.
