Hoang Van Tuan

Community Development Officer in Thanh Hoa province

"SRD is a non-governmental organization working for the sustainable development of communities, especially people living in remote areas, and vulnerable groups affected by natural disasters and climate change. SRD's mission and vision follow the socio-economic development trend of Vietnam and the world. It's a good working environment for me to improve myself and devote myself to community development."
Tuan graduated from Vietnam Forestry University with a major in Forest Livelihoods. He started working at SRD in January 2014 as a community development officer in the Thanh Hoa Province for the Vietnam Forests and Deltas project, a USAID-funded project, which was implemented by Winrock International and its consortium of partners including SRD.
His former employment as a technical officer for the Forest Protection Department and as a community development officer for Care International have allowed him to develop his expertise in community-based forest management planning and implementing climate change adaptation livelihoods.
Tuan has attended some training courses, including:
• Training for facilitators in development projects, CARE;
• Training on international cooperation, CIDEAL.
