The Voluntary Partnership Agreement between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the European Union on Forest law Enforcement, Governance and Trade in (VPA/FLEGT) was officially signed on 19 October 2018. The Agreement was approved by the EU on 15/04/2019 and ratified by the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on 23/04/2019 in Resolution No. 25/NQ-CP and entered into force from 1/06/2019. The Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EU (EVFTA) was signed in 2020 and takes effect in August 08, 2020. These two agreements have opened up opportunities for Vietnam. In particular for processing and import-export enterprises of the two sides, which have now the opportunity to expand the market and strengthen cooperation in the Agriculture sector, especially in Forestry.
